As I walked through downtown Bangkok to see the new Ritz-Carlton, I felt a nice breeze and noticed the bright blue sky. Strolling along the lovely green paths of the One Bangkok area, where the hotel is located, reminded me of cities like New York and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Inside the hotel, a friendly bellman took me to the lobby on the seventh floor. There, I saw a beautiful lily pond with glass lilies under large windows with a view of the skyline. It was an amazing sight.<\/p>\n

I met Tina Liu, the hotel\u2019s general manager, who told me about this luxury hotel. Standing 216 meters tall at Wireless and Rama IV roads, the hotel\u2019s theme is \u201cMeeting of Two Civilizations.\u201d This reflects Thailand’s vision from the 1800s to blend its traditions with international influences. From what I saw, the Ritz-Carlton captures Bangkok\u2019s exciting future.<\/p>\n

Architects from Chicago\u2019s SOM and Thailand\u2019s A49 designed the Ritz-Carlton with open-air terraces that offer great views of Bangkok. Inside, PIA design studio created a cozy feel with archways, marble floors, beautiful chandeliers, and personal touches.<\/p>\n

The main pool, along with a kids’ pool that has water jets, provides stunning city views. Soft pool chairs line the path to a nice terrace where you can enjoy drinks while watching the sunset over Lumphini Park. Behind the terrace is the fine dining restaurant, Duet by David Toutain, inspired by the chef’s Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris. It serves modern French dishes made with high-quality ingredients in a lovely glass setting. This is a must-try experience!<\/p>\n

The hotel offers 260 rooms, each featuring Thai art, original pieces, and modern design. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that beautifully frame the views. The starting option is the spacious 50-square-meter Deluxe Room. Absolute Asia Tours<\/strong><\/a> Tip: About half of these rooms have balconies with tables for two, perfect for fresh air. If you prefer more indoor space, the non-balcony rooms have the same size and come with a daybed by the window for relaxation in air-conditioning.<\/p>\n

The larger 127-square-meter Marigold and Amaranth Suites have soothing gray tones, dark wood furniture, and multiple seating areas. In the corner suite I visited, a large bathroom with sliding doors allowed access to the views from the living room, bedroom, and hallways. Some suites even feature two balconies.<\/p>\n
